Researchers at the Clemson University are fine-tuning Diffuse Optical Tomography (DOT), which uses infrared rays to detect breast cancer (http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2009-10/cu-rfd100609.php). They say it is a cheaper and safer than mammograms.
But does DOT have the potential to replace Mammography?
