Clinician's View - HIMSS 2010 Interoperability Showcase
| Medical Conferences News - HIMSS 2010 |
HIMSS 2010 Interoperability Showcase provides clinicians the opportunity to experience cutting-edge technology married to real-world software and systems, to be held in Atlanta.
The HIMSS 2010 Interoperability Showcase provides clinicians the opportunity to experience cutting-edge technology married to real-world software and systems. Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) was formed to overcome barriers clinicians find every day: health information systems within the same hospital or system unable to convey critical clinical information between systems. The frustrating state of information sequestered in silos is successfully being dismantled through use of IHE Profiles, which instructs vendors on how to transmit clinical data between systems.
In the Showcase, clinicians will see an interactive, real-time community of systems where creating, accessing and exchanging data from your own electronic health record is possible. Clinical scenarios designed to represent commonly encountered situations rely on IHE Profiles for data exchanges.
Emergency care and obstetrical ambulatory care scenarios use Patient Care Coordination (PCC) Profiles, developed with input from clinicians and organizations, e.g. American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), to ensure clinical perspectives drive the exchange. Other Profiles deployed focus on direct medical device data capture using Patient Care Device (PCD) profiles.
Seeing real, live and efficient data flow highlights the benefits and value for clinicians and the foundation of patient safety and quality care.
The HIMSS 2010 Interoperability Showcase will be on March 1 to March 3.
