| Medical Conferences News - HIMSS 2010 |
A HIMSS study has found that the vast majority of small to mid-sized (100-400 bed) U.S. hospitals surveyed plan to increase their health IT spending in 2010.
A recent HIMSS study has found that the vast majority of small to mid-sized (100-400 bed) U.S. hospitals surveyed plan to increase their health IT spending in 2010—with much of that spending going toward point-of-care systems and systems for managing clinical data.
News ImageU.S. hospitals and health care networks, including Mt. Ascutney Hospital, the Western Washington Rural Health Care Collaborative (WWRHCC), and the Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council (CCSNPC) are using solutions from Orion Health for these point-of-care and data management functions. Using Orion Health systems, these hospitals have been able to improve healthcare and ultimately health outcomes.
Both rural healthcare organizations, Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, Vermont and Western Washington Rural Health Care Collaborative in Washington State are using Orion Health Concerto Physician Portal for a complete, unified view of patient data for physicians and staff across multiple locations.
Western Washington Rural Health Care Collaborative uses Concerto to connect eight remote counties of Washington State to share resources and patient data across nine federally designated critical access hospitals (CAHs). The Web portal provides physicians at rural health clinics or private offices with information about their patients. Consulting physicians traveling to these rural areas will also be able to view information prior to the onsite consultation.
If attending HIMSS 2010 in Atlanta, March 1-4th, can visit the Orion Health booth, Exhibition Hall #1911 to learn more about the clinical workflow and integration technology solutions that allow the use of data to improve health outcomes for electronic health records ( EHR ).
