HIMSS-2011 Conference, the Annual Conference & Exhibition of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society will be held from February 20 – 24 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

HIMSS-2011 is special because HIMSS celebrates its silver anniversary this year culminating at the 2011 annual conference. HIMSS was founded as the Hospital Management Systems Society in 1961 and it's first conference was first held in 1962.

HIMSS is a not-for-profit organization exclusively focused on providing global leadership for the optimal use of information technology (IT) and management systems for the betterment of healthcare. HIMSS condusts a variety of conferences and events to educate, meet and network with Healthcare IT professionals around the globe, out of which the Annual conference held each year is the most important.

Like other HIMSS Annual conferences, HIMSS 11 also offers more than 300 education sessions on meaningful use criteria and standards, HIT privacy policy, ARRA, Electronic Medical Records etc. HIMSS2011 also has an exhibition floor where around 1000 vendors showcase their latest innovations and product launches. Also there is the interesting 'Interoperability Showcase' where participants demonstrate their unique technologies in different clinical scenarios.
