HealthPort Goes Pink in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

Company News - HealthPort

HealthPort announced its donation goal of $10,000 to Passionately Pink For The Cure during October-Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the AHIMA convention, October 4-7, 2009

HealthPort, a top 25-company in the healthcare information technology industry, announced its donation goal of $10,000 to Passionately Pink For The Cure, a program of Susan G. Komen For The Cure, during October-Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) convention, October 4-7, 2009.

In support of breast cancer awareness month and Passionately Pink For The Cure, HealthPort will have a number of activities that involve HealthPort staff and convention attendees in booth, #1422, during AHIMA. Breast Cancer Awareness educational materials will also be on hand.

“HealthPort’s commitment to healthcare extends beyond our technology and services as we continually strive to optimize the flow of clinical information and improve communication, ultimately leading to an increase in quality patient care,” said Amber Doster, Vice President of Marketing, HealthPort. “Launching our philanthropic campaign with a donation goal of $10,000 to Passionately Pink For The Cure, during AHIMA, is an excellent way to get our customers and prospects involved, many of which have been affected by this disease, to raise awareness for such an important cause.”

This year, the Susan G. Komen Foundation hopes to raise $4.6 million through the program to support its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Seventy-five percent of donations received through Passionately Pink For The Cure will go towards research to find a cure for breast cancer, and the remaining 25 percent will support breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs at the local level.
