HealthPort launches a new Web page and blog devoted exclusively to HIPAA news and updates

HealthPort , a top-25 company in the health information technology industry, announced, in support of the American Health Information Management Association’s (AHIMA) 7th annual Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) week, April 11-17, 2010, it is launching a new Web page and blog devoted exclusively to HIPAA news and updates.

Authored by Jan McDavid, HealthPort’s resident HIPAA expert, General Counsel and Compliance Officer, the HIPAA blog comprises news, tips and updates for the healthcare community and will serve as an educational resource surrounding privacy and security issues, a direct correlation to AHIMA’s HIPS Week 2010 theme, “United In A Mission, To Protect Information.”
