Wisconsin Community Health Center Turns to HealthPort for Three Key Technology Solutions

Company News - HealthPort

HealthPort Continues to Support Community Health Centers with a Wide Range of Technology and Support Services

HealthPort, a top-25 company in the healthcare information technology industry, announced that Bridge Community Health Clinic in Wausau, Wisconsin has partnered with the company to implement three of HealthPort’s technology solutions: HealthPort Practice Management (PM), HealthPort Electronic Medical Record (EMR); and HealthPort Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). HealthPort serves approximately 12 percent of the community health centers (CHCs) nationwide making them a leading technology solutions provider for this increasingly important industry segment. Having gone live on HealthPort PM in July 2009, Bridge Community will implement HealthPort EMR and RCM applications by the end of the year.

“The systems we purchased from HealthPort will help our clinic move forward with important automation in three key areas: operations; patient care; and finance,” states Pauline Putman, Chief Financial Officer. Specifically, Bridge Community selected HealthPort PM to provide the three-location organization with stronger reporting capabilities through a powerful reporting tool uniquely designed to meet Federal and State quarterly reporting requirements for CHCs.

With HealthPort EMR, Bridge Community clinicians will be able to better educate and promote healthy lifestyles for the 21,000 under and uninsured patients they serve. “Clinicians will have the ability to pull up patient care information across our organization, track patients by disease process, and show them an on-screen picture of their healthcare progress,” mentions Putman.

“From my perspective, the ability to have these three solutions from a single vendor was an important factor. When you use disparate vendors and systems there are a lot of man-hours required to pull information together,” mentions Putman. In today’s busy healthcare environment, no one has the time to integrate disparate information. With HealthPort, the organization will be able to collect and collate information across all three solutions: PM, EMR and RCM. The only application missing from the HealthPort suite for Bridge Community is the Electronic Dental Record (EDR). An important system for Bridge Community, Putman contracted with another firm for this solution.
