Sebelius To Address Boston Healthcare IT Event
| Healthcare IT News - Healthcare Informatics |
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will provide the keynote address for a national conference on healthcare IT in Boston where the national coordinator for HIT, David Blumenthal, will also address.
Gov. Deval Patrick said the two-day event will take place at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston, starting April 29. Patrick said the event would give local business leaders the opportunity to meet with federal and state officials to discuss strategies for implementing healthcare IT that will improve patient care and strengthen the economy.
“Massachusetts continues to lead the way in leveraging healthcare IT as part of healthcare reform. This conference brings together thought leaders in the field so strategies can be implemented on a much grander scale,” said Patrick, in a prepared statement.
Officials from all 50 states have been invited to participate, including governors, state health secretaries, Medicaid directors, healthcare IT experts and legislative leaders.
