Healthcare Informatics Surrex Launches Healthcare IT & EHR Division

Surrex Launches Healthcare IT & EHR Division

Healthcare IT News - Healthcare Informatics

Surrex Consulting, a nationwide provider of IT staffing and consulting services, has launched a new division created to service the healthcare IT and electronic records market.

Company officials said that Surrex, which has 15 offices nationwide, plans to leverage its experience in IT consulting and staffing and focus resources on delivering to the primary users of EHR and healthcare IT technology - hospitals and hospital groups.

According to company officials, the move, timed to coincide with the rollout of government initiatives such as the HITECH Act and updated HIPAA regulations, allows the company to provide value and service to a market that faces rapidly increasing demand for talent and a progressively expanding talent shortage.

“We have seen studies that predict talent shortages in the healthcare IT market that approach 30 percent over the next five years,” said Michael Junge, EHR strategist, Surrex, in a statement.

Junge said that if the effort to improve healthcare in the United States is to succeed it is imperative that individuals and companies with the experience and capacity to deliver positive results step up and focus their skills on serving this vital marketplace.

Electronic Health Records (EHR) technology represents a rapidly expanding segment of the healthcare IT market. EHR solutions are designed to streamline the gathering and maintenance of patient information, simplify information sharing and improve overall patient care and safety.

“We recognize the absolute necessity for effective EHR implementation and integration projects over the coming months and years,” said Joseph A. Gendron, CEO, Surrex.

Gendron said that these projects depend on identifying and delivering quality solutions and qualified talent. Surrex Consulting is uniquely positioned to provide both, and the company looks forward to serving this marketplace.
