CareMedic Expands Partnership with Healthland to Increase Offering to Healthcare Industry
| Company News - Healthland |
Healthland to Offer CareMedic’s Audit (RAC) Management to Rural Healthcare Providers
CareMedic Systems, Inc. and Minnesota-based Healthland announced an expanded partnership to provide additional value to the healthcare industry. Under the new agreement, Healthland, America’s market leader of healthcare information solutions for small community and critical access hospitals, will recommend CareMedic’s Audit Management solution to its client base. CareMedic and Healthland have a history working together to provide the highest quality in healthcare IT; currently, Healthland offers CareMedic’s direct access Medicare solution and its claims and compliance management applications.
CareMedic, a leading provider of end-to-end revenue cycle solutions, developed Audit Management in response to the CMS rollout of the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program. Under the RAC program, independent contractors perform both automated and complex audits of historical paid Medicare claims to identify overpayments, which are then “taken back” by CMS. Audit Management not only assists in tracking record requests, deadlines and appeals, but identifies potential risk and includes RAC-specific edits to prevent future problems.
“At Healthland, we are committed to increasing efficiencies and reducing costs for small community and critical access hospitals,” said Angie Franks, Healthland senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We’ve identified CareMedic’s Audit Management as a complementary solution for our nationwide client base. Today, our customers are experiencing beneficial results from CareMedic solutions, and this tool is a logical outgrowth of the company’s industry-leading MedicareRT technology.”
Healthland specializes in solutions that enable small community hospitals to deliver the best in healthcare by helping to create one patient chart across the community, be it a hospital, clinic, home healthcare or long term care facility. The outcome of its integrated applications is increased operational efficiencies, improved departmental and organizational communication, and reduced cost, due to more effectively managing patient records and optimizing reimbursement while ensuring regulatory compliance.
With over 300 shared customers, the two companies have enjoyed a successful relationship since 2003, and offer integrated solutions for compliance and order entry functions. According to Jim Jacobs, CareMedic’s vice president of marketing and sales operations, “Partnership with Healthland is a strategic alliance that benefits not only our companies, but Healthland’s targeted client base of small community and critical access facilities, as well. Our complementary offerings work well together, and our partnership brings awareness of Audit Management to a broader active client base.”
