Healthland completes the acquisition of American Healthnet
Healthland, America's leading provider of healthcare information solutions for small community and critical access hospitals, announced it has successfully completed its acquisition of American Healthnet (AHN), based in Omaha, Neb. Specific details of the AHN acquisition were not disclosed.
American Healthnet, founded in 1980, provides healthcare information systems to help hospitals efficiently manage critical information and decision processes to enable quality and cost-effective patient care. Both Healthland and AHN serve virtually the same market and, as a result of the acquisition, Healthland will acquire all of AHN’s customers.
In addition to its market leadership in small community hospitals, Healthland is experiencing strong momentum in the marketplace. Moreover, this is the HIT provider’s second acquisition in one year and most recently, the healthcare research firm, KLAS, reported that Healthland scored higher than all other vendors in its 50-bed-and-under hospital market study. Healthland solutions enable small community hospitals to deliver the best in healthcare by helping to create one patient chart across the community, be it a hospital, clinic, home healthcare or long term care facility.
“We are very excited about the momentum we are currently experiencing,” commented James Burgess, president and CEO of Healthland. “This recent activity points to the strength of Healthland, and demonstrates we are a safe investment for small community hospitals looking to meet new government ARRA guidelines and meaningful use requirements,” Burgess added.
