INFINITT Contracts for 18-Hospital PACS Project in Colombia, South America
| Company News - INFINITT Co., Ltd. |
INFINITT has provided affordable, state-of-the-art medical imaging and information capabilities to numerous Radiology , Cardiology , Orthopedics, and Dental healthcare facilities worldwide.
INFINITT has signed a multi-site, multi-phased contract with Medison Econet Corp. (MEC) to provide INFINITT PACS for an 18-hospital PACS Project in Colombia, South America. MEC won an 18-hospital contract with SaludCoop EPS towards the end of 2009, and recently contracted with INFINITT to install INFINITT PACS DS (Distributed Server) solution at each of the hospitals and their centralized medical data center.
SaludCoop Group is one of the top 10 companies in Colombia as well as the country’s number one private insurance company; it ranks first in sales and net profits in the medical sector. SaludCoop Group and the Colombian Government have been organizing the SaludCoop EPS Project for converting hospitals to fully-digital operations.
In the first phase of the project, INFINITT will implement a clustered main server and web server at the SaludCoop Centralized Medical Data Center and cache servers at 18 hospitals. Cache servers will provide local storage and enable the hospitals to send X-ray and MRI images to SaludCoop Data Center where the clustered main server and web servers are located. Radiologists at SaludCoop Reading Center will read the imaging studies and send the results back to the physicians at the respective hospitals.
In October SaludCoop will host an opening ceremony with VIPs and invited guests to celebrate the completion of this phase of the project. In December, the project will move into the second phase with implementation in the remaining 22 hospitals. INFINITT hopes to continue on with the second part of the project.
The hospitals went through a period of rigorous evaluation to select a PACS vendor. INFINITT’s customized service, competitive pricing and distributed server architecture played a major role in winning this contract over competing global companies. INFINITT PACS ’ ability to support the Spanish language was also a deciding factor.
This contract is a major milestone in INFINITT ’s business expansion in the region, and presents an excellent opportunity for INFINITT to demonstrate its superior technology and solutions to the South American market. Moreover, the Colombian government has a great interest in the SaludCoop EPS project, as similar projects are slated for the near future.
