INFINITT North America Introduces Integrated RIS/PACS/Billing Solution for Imaging Providers

Company News - INFINITT North America

INFINITT North America announced a business partnership with Great Valley Technologies to offer its single-database RIS and PACS with fully-integrated billing capabilities.

INFINITT North America, a technology leader in web-based RIS, PACS and Advanced Visualization solutions, announced a business partnership with Great Valley Technologies (GVT), a Malvern, PA company, to offer its single-database RIS and PACS with fully-integrated billing capabilities. The INFINITT RIS/PACS/Billing Solution will now be a completely integrated, end-to-end radiology software solution for physician practices, imaging centers and small hospitals.

"The economic benefits of an integrated billing solution for radiology are significant," said David Smarro, President and CEO of INFINITT North America, "mostly as a result of workflow efficiencies, shorter payment cycles and improved charge capture. Reduction in data entry has been shown to reduce human error and the labor costs associated with reconciling inconsistencies in patient data."

"INFINITT considered several billing packages before selecting the billing and reimbursement software developed by GVT," said Smarro. "We chose the GVT software for its integration capabilities, its rules-based intelligent processing and its proven reliability." Development of the GVT software has been ongoing since the installation of its first system in 1991.

"The addition of this billing module closes the loop," says Smarro, "so that our integrated RIS/PACS can process patient information and transactions from order entry and scheduling through the imaging procedure, reporting and then billing and reimbursement.

In addition to all the image and study management functions, the integrated software solution will process claims, payments and credit card co-pays, aid in collections, conduct online eligibility verifications and create management reports."

According to James Sullivan of GVT, what sets their billing software apart from other medical billing modules is its intelligent processing that can be customized to each billing manager's preferences. The business/billing manager decides how each situation should be handled, that information is recorded and then 'expert logic' takes over to automate the processes. The system simplifies training since many processes are performed automatically, which also reduces the negative impact of employee turnover.

INFINITT has developed integrated solutions for the healthcare enterprise, including RIS, Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, Mammography PACS, Advanced Visualization and more on a single/common database. The inherent flexibility and scalability of the underlying technology allows INFINITT to respond quickly to market demand and regulatory changes with software upgrades and enhancements, new applications and integration with other information systems such as Practice Management Systems and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). An investment in INFINITT provides long-term value as the core technology supports organizational growth and change.
