INFINITT North America , a leading developer and provider of image and information management technologies, is in the process of installing INFINITT ’s web-based PACS at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, a Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health Hospital located in Jamaica Plain, MA.

INFINITT North America, a leading developer and provider of image and information management technologies, is in the process of installing INFINITT ’s web-based PACS at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, a Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health Hospital located in Jamaica Plain, MA.

The Lemuel Shattuck Hospital operates 255 inpatient beds, and is a safety net provider of ambulatory and surgical services for a mix of patients referred by private sector providers and state agencies. The Shattuck is a fully-accredited teaching facility operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, admitting community patients primarily from the Boston region. It contracts with the state Department of Correction and county correctional systems to deliver health care to inmates and detainees, and collaborates with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health to provide continuing care to the severely and chronically mentally ill.

This is the first contract INFINITT North America has signed with a government entity, although it is pursuing other US government contracts and, INFINITT – its global affiliate – has numerous installations in large government-run teaching hospitals worldwide.

The Shattuck hospital campus is unique among state-operated direct care facilities in offering comprehensive medical care, including 26 subspecialty outpatient clinics, and full radiology and laboratory services. The hospital’s network of services allows individuals with multiple diagnoses to be treated at one site, but also increases the demand for access to patient information and diagnostic images in multiple locations simultaneously. The INFINITT PACS will enable Lemuel Shattuck to meet on-site requirements for data access, and positions it to communicate healthcare information to clinicians across the State.

The Commonwealth’s solicitation to bid also called for stringent security measures and data integrity controls such as audit and reporting capabilities, HTTPS 128-bit encryption and safeguards to prevent unauthorized access to the communications network. INFINITT satisfied all clinical, integration and HIPAA requirements and provided an all-inclusive fee-per-study financing vehicle.
