INFINITT North America announced the deployment of INFINITT Enterprise PACS at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center

INFINITT North America, a technology leader in web-based image and information management solutions, announced the deployment of their web-based Enterprise PACS at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) in Paterson and Wayne, New Jersey. Infinitt used their own migration tools and methods to transfer more than 30 Terabytes of image and patient data in less than five months.
 
Since its inception in 1868, St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center has grown into an 880-bed academic tertiary medical center and state designated trauma center, consisting of three hospitals and two outpatient imaging centers. With more than 350,000 imaging procedures a year, the old PACS was unable to handle the ever-increasing data storage and distribution requirements.
 
According to Jim Cavanagh, CIO and VP of Operations at St. Joseph's, when they selected INFINITT as a technology partner for replacement of their legacy PACS, they knew data migration was a critical issue. They had millions of images and associated patient data that needed to be moved to the new system. As is typical, they wanted the migration to be accomplished as quickly as possible.
 
 "Out of six PACS vendors considered in our search for a replacement PACS, INFINITT was the only one that proposed to handle the migration internally. Bundled in with the new PACS system, the INFINITT migration solution was much less expensive than the third-party solution proposed by other vendors. INFINITT had developed its own migration gateway, and had experience with numerous PACS replacement projects in the global market. Although we were skeptical at first, they were also the only vendor to propose a virtual environment for high availability and failover, and were willing to stand behind it with guaranteed performance."
 
Infinitt has replaced more than 20 different PACS solutions for more than 70 sites worldwide; this knowledge and experience is a valuable asset. Infinitt has a team of migration specialists and various migration tools that can be adapted to different hospital/imaging center environments.
 
Key points:

• Prior to migration, Infinitt migration specialists analyze the legacy PACS and its data, and if necessary, Infinitt migration tools are    customized to satisfy the migration requirements.
• Infinitt migration tools can perform automatic migration according to predefined rules, compare legacy PACS data and Infinitt PACS data for verification, and monitor the migration status of each study in the migration list.
• Immediate migration of a patient study can be triggered by MWL or a manual retrieve request.
• Infinitt migration tools support predefined rules to cleanse the data during migration and can perform error correction and verification functions.
• Images that fail to be migrated can be retried for migration automatically or manually at a later time.
