InDex is Being Deployed in South Africa with Xeikona for Miners

Company News - InSite One

InSite One announced its first international distribution agreement with Xeikona Medical Solutions

InSite One , Inc. announced its first international distribution agreement with Xeikona Medical Solutions of Johannesburg, South Africa. InDex ® Vendor Neutral Enterprise Archive (VNA), will be deployed by Xeikona Medical Solutions as a central data repository for clinical data in hosted data centers. Xeikona Medical Solutions will also be deploying a full complement of IHE compliant, data management services, allowing multiple enterprises to share information in a secure and cost effective services model that mirrors the accomplishments of the same services in the US market. These hosted services for commercial hospitals and the public health sectors in South Africa will be called the African Digital Data Exchange (ADDEX).

The initial application of InDex services will provide a central repository that will share diagnostic imaging and related reports for the mining industry. Today, managing healthcare screenings in the mining industry in South Africa is a cumbersome and lengthy process that creates duplicated costs, lost time for the miners as well as lost labor for the mining companies during the review of their studies. InDex services, in conjunction with PACS from Xeikona Medical Solutions, will provide an opportunity for immediate turnaround of diagnostic images and a reduction of duplicated studies while allowing miners to return to work faster with a completed diagnostic report.

“InDex enterprise archive solutions will provide an advanced toolset and business model that Xeikona has been looking for to address healthcare data sharing,” comments Gerhard Breytenbach, Principal of Xeikona Medical Solutions. “We discovered that InDex delivers a single source, secure archive that allows easy and immediate access to studies by institution as well as across delivery systems. This will have tremendous cost savings for our clients and clinical value for any health system.” Mr. Breytenbach concluded.
