InforSense Ltd., announced that the University of Greifswald, one of the oldest academic educational institutions in Germany, is using GenSense to accelerate the quality control, analysis and annotation of genotyping data from 4100 individuals.

The genotyping data was generated using the Affymetrix Genome-Wide Human SNP Array 6.0 platform.
Phenotype as well as genetic data were collected in the course of the Study of Health in Pomerania (SHIP) and will be used to investigate the genetic causes of various complex diseases, including the detection of susceptibility loci for several common diseases. Information from Intersystems Cache has also been integrated into the genetic analysis workflows using the InforSense platform.

"The data generated from the SHIP cohort covers 4100 subjects and provides a wealth of information for us to analyse," said Professor Völker, Group Leader Functional Genomics, University of Greifswald. "GenSense offers efficient automation of quality control procedures, statistical analyses and annotation work, and therefore significantly accelerates our data processing. Furthermore, it allows integration of third party tools such as Plink and SNPTest," said Dr. Homuth, Group Leader Transcriptomics, University of Greifswald.
