AbbaDox® Rad available on iTunes®, lets radiologists share diagnostic images with their referring physicians

Integrated Document Solutions (IDS), a pioneer in delivering healthcare applications via cloud computing, announced today that AbbaDox Rad, the company’s mobile DICOM image viewing application for the iPad, is now available in the iTunes App Store.

The app is supported on the back-end by a sophisticated architecture and the AbbaDox portal, allowing it to quickly stream images from a diagnostic imaging source to the iPad’s rich interface.  In addition, AbbaDox Rad features standard PACS tools, such as window leveling, zoom, pan, and annotations and retains no confidential patient information on the device itself.

Mobile DICOM Image Viewer“Imaging centers are competing for market share more than ever before and AbbaDox Rad is the perfect tool to differentiate, add value and even create excitement among referring physicians, ” said CEO Yaniv Dagan. “Abbadox Rad is part of a growing trend towards using the iPad as part of a mobile EHR, and removes an important barrier to sharing DICOM diagnostic information among healthcare providers, ” he added.

AbbaDox Rad is a natural extension of the AbbaDox ecosystem and a powerful distribution tool able to provide referring physicians with instant access to final studies while they are on-the-go or making hospital rounds.  In addition, it eliminates the need to install and maintain mini-PACS and VPNs at physicians’ offices.

The app is free and includes sample images for demonstration purposes.  An active AbbaDox account is required for full functionality.  In November, IDS announced the launch of the IDS Image Viewer, the browser-based version of AbbaDox Rad.
