LEAD Technologies announced the release of LEADTOOLS version 16.
LEAD Technologies, Inc, the leading provider of imaging development toolkits, announced the release of LEADTOOLS version 16. This major new version offers significant and valuable new features to the current LEADTOOLS product line. In addition, LEAD is launching several exciting new products, including a Medical Web Viewer Framework, a JPIP Client/Server toolkit and a Forms Recognition and Processing toolkit.
LEADTOOLS is a collection of SDKs (software development toolkits) designed to enable programmers to quickly and easily integrate digital imaging technology into applications. This newest version of LEADTOOLS includes several breakthrough enhancements and new products specifically developed for the Medical Imaging and Document Imaging vertical markets.

- JPIP Client and Server Tools for viewing high resolution images with minimal network bandwidth requirements.

- Forms Recognition and Processing SDK for classifying, processing and extracting data from scanned handwritten and machine printed forms.
- OCR (Optical Character Recognition) enhancements for the rapid development of document imaging applications with high-level OCR functionality
- Multi-threaded OCR SDK that supports both 32 and 64 bit development.
- Allows choice of multiple OCR, ICR, OMR and MICR engines.
- OCR output can be saved as multiple document formats including DOC, PDF and PDF/A.
- Updated Barcode Modules with all 2D symbols included in a single product.
- Annotation support for WPF to mark up images in XAML based applications.
