An advanced acute hospital bed, that combines practicality, world-class infection control and advanced ergonomics, is being showcased at MEDICA 2010 .

Designed and manufactured in the UK by British based Sidhil, the Independence Innov8 has been designed exclusively to meet the needs of hospital teams and patients around the world – making it one of the most comfortable, easy-to-use and practical hospital beds anywhere in the world.

Every bed also has a special BioCote antimicrobial coating, which over an 18 hour period reduces levels of bacteria by up to 99.9%; reducing the risk of cross infection and inhibiting the growth of micro-organisms to make cleaning easier.

Being electrically operated the Innov8 can also be adjusted to a low level for added patient safety and also has additional functionalities to adjust the backrests and knee breaks. Both patient handset and nurse control panels are provided, which have the ability to lock out specific functions via the nurse control panel if needed.

It is also ideal for manual handling and patient experience and offers complete flexibility, with regard to the bed specification, suitable for use in all hospital environments; from general wards to high dependency units.

Over the last few years Sidhil has carried out extensive research on the real requirements of acute and private hospital beds, working closely with a team of tissue viability, manual handling, nursing management, medical engineering and procurement specialists.

MEDICA will be taking place between the 17 - 20 November 2010 at the Messe Düsseldorf, Germany. Throughout the show Sidhil will be located on the UK Pavilion, hall 16 stand G10.
