MEDSEEK to Implement Comprehensive Four-Portal eHealth ecoSystem at Rex Healthcare

Company News - MEDSEEK, Inc.

MEDSEEK Provides North Carolina Hospital with eHealth Solutions to Further Enhance Relationships with Key Constituents

MEDSEEK, the leading provider of enterprise-wide healthcare portal connectivity solutions, announced that Rex Healthcare signed a multi-year agreement with MEDSEEK to design and implement a comprehensive eHealth ecoSystem, a virtual community in which patients, physicians and employees can collaborate to better manage health and more efficiently deliver healthcare, providing “the right information to the right person at the right time.” By making it easier for physicians and patients to interact with the health system, and with each other, the ecosystem solutions will dramatically enhance constituent satisfaction and provide Rex Healthcare with a unique advantage in the rapidly expanding and highly competitive Raleigh, North Carolina area.

Committed to recruiting, retaining and affiliating with top-notch physicians, the progressive leaders at Rex Healthcare first turned to MEDSEEK because of the vendor’s proven ability to deliver clinical portals that dramatically enhance physician satisfaction. However, the leaders at Rex Healthcare also recognized that today’s healthcare consumers are increasingly sophisticated, informed and assertive; and that their expectations are being set not only by nearby competitors, but also by other, more progressive industries, such as banking and travel.

To ensure their eHealth strategy aligns fully with their organizational objectives, the team at Rex Healthcare worked with MEDSEEK’s consulting services arm to develop a thorough, system-wide cross-functional analysis of users’ wants and needs. The result of this analysis is an extensive eHealth connectivity roadmap designed to deliver the ultimate online experience for users and position Rex Healthcare as the eHealth leader in North Carolina.

Ultimately, the 665-bed integrated healthcare system selected MEDSEEK to implement their eHealth ecoSystem because Rex felt confident in MEDSEEK’s ability to quickly convert the organization’s eHealth vision for all their constituents into a reality. Rex Healthcare and MEDSEEK have committed to rapidly launching numerous robust, constituent-centric experience solutions, to include:

A refreshed consumer experience that leverages Rex Healthcare’s existing web-assets and positions Rex to capitalize on social media efforts.

A focus on consumer value by providing an easy-to-use pricing transparency solution that offers Rex Healthcare patients the ability to estimate actual out-of-pocket costs for multiple healthcare diagnostic and inpatient procedures utilizing a pricing transparency solution, providing both future and current patients with an up-front estimate of the out-of-pocket expenses they may incur, after insurance pays, for a procedure performed at any Rex Healthcare facility.

An intuitive, single-screen view for physicians of their patients’ aggregated health information, which will enhance clinical decision making and in turn improve outcomes, while simultaneously expediting physician workflow and boosting satisfaction. This clinical portal solution can also position Rex Healthcare to participate in state and regional health information exchanges, which will aid them in collecting significant federal incentives available via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s healthcare information technology specific provision, known as the HITECH Act.

An improvement for employee engagement by enhancing access to job-specific human resources information, pre-interview paperwork for prospective employees, and streamlining communications and interaction during the onboarding process.

“To engage and enhance loyalty among patients and consumers, clinicians and employees, we made a strategic decision to implement all of the eHealth ecoSystem’s experience solutions in a very aggressive timeframe,” stated Novlet Bradshaw, Chief Information Officer of Rex Healthcare. “Prioritizing the experience of any one group over another was simply not an option. Everyone in our organization is excited and supportive of an enterprise-wide rollout.”

Bradshaw added, “MEDSEEK’s eHealth ecoSystem will help us realize a 21st century approach to connecting with our constituents and will differentiate Rex Healthcare in a highly competitive market.”

Peter Kuhn, MEDSEEK’s CEO, stated, “With the implementation of a comprehensive eHealth ecoSystem, Rex Healthcare is effectively positioning itself as a market leader. The aggressive timeline Rex Healthcare has chosen for implementing multiple experience solutions will transform the relationships the system has with its constituents, including consumers, patients, clinicians and employees. And with each subsequent phase, Rex Healthcare’s commitment to eHealth will continue to strengthen those ties.”
