Foundation of CKHA Receives Cheque for the MRI Campaign

Radiology News

The Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance received a cheque in the amount of $55,502.14 for the Foundation’s Making the Right Investment – MRI Campaign from the friends, neighbours and the community of Union Hall.

The donation represents the proceeds from the sale of Union Hall, on the corner of 6th and Bloomfield Road, in the former Raleigh Township.

The Union Hall building was established in 1871 and was trustee-owned. Over the years, the Hall was passed down through the generations and until its sale this past summer, it was governed by four trustees – Pat Pailey, Paul Rhodes, Todd Rhodes and Mark Schneider. When the time came to sell the Hall, Patrick Pinsonneault, Real Estate Broker, Royal LePage, generously donated his time and commission from the sale to Union Hall. While finalizing the Hall’s finances, the trustees, friends, neighbours and the community of Union Hall unanimously agreed to donate the monies from the sale to the Making the Right investment – MRI Campaign.

“When we were deciding where to direct the proceeds from the sale of Union Hall, we all agreed that we wanted to support a cause that positively impacts the entire community,” says Pat Pailey, Trustee, Union Hall. “With that in mind, we all agreed that the MRI Campaign would be a perfect fit as it is an important campaign for an essential piece of equipment and the funds stay local – benefiting all of Chatham-Kent.”

The Foundation’s Making the Right Investment – MRI Campaign was launched in 2007 with an overall fundraising goal of $3.5 million. Today’s donation from Union Hall brings the MRI Campaign’s fundraising total to date to $3,282,869.61.

“We are so grateful for today’s generous donation from Union Hall to the MRI Campaign,” says Michele Grzebien, Executive Director, Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. “The ongoing success of the MRI Campaign is directly attributed to the support of our community. As we look ahead, it is the community’s ongoing commitment, through donations like the one we have received today, that will help us to reach our campaign fundraising goal by the end of this year.”
