agencyQ Develops MSL Website to Support a Life-Saving Campaign

Radiology News - Mammography

agencyQ announces the launch of an advocacy website created to support “ Mammography Saves Lives,” a national public service announcement campaign spearheaded by breast cancer care experts. The campaign and website emphasize the importance of regular mammography screenings as a preventative measure against breast cancer for women age 40 and above.

Launched for October – National Breast Cancer Awareness month – the site presents facts, guidelines and research about mammography alongside a number of interactive features: visitors can register for annual mammogram e-mail reminders and share the information with their loved ones through “Tell-a-Friend” functionality; watch and share “Survivor Stories” testimonials and “Straight Talk” physician podcasts via a customized YouTube video player; or upload their own breast cancer survival stories through a form on the site.

Mammography Saves Lives™ is a coalition of the not-for-profit 501(C)(3) medical associations representing a broad spectrum of breast cancer care experts – it includes the American Society of Breast Disease, the Society of Breast Imaging and project sponsor the American College of Radiology. ACR is the principal organization for radiologists, radiation oncologists, and clinical medical physicists in the United States. For over three quarters of a century, the ACR has devoted its resources to making imaging safe, effective and accessible to those who need it.

“A significant amount of scientific evidence exists to prove that annual mammography screenings beginning at age 40 saves lives,” said Diane Dunne, Senior Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations at the American College of Radiology. “This message needed to be heard, and we went to agencyQ knowing they would have the expertise to help us reach our audience in an impactful way.”

“To support such an important message, we created a website that would promote two-way communication between the Mammography Saves Lives campaign and the women the site is intended to speak to,” said Tim Neill, CEO of agencyQ. “The microsite that Q’s team designed, developed and launched provides multiple touch points for the message of the campaign to come through. Our team drew motivation from the commitment of the breast cancer experts to saving lives by promoting this vital message and we hope that this campaign will encourage more individuals to take preventative actions against breast cancer.”
