ODS Companies of Portland, Ore. has confirmed that they will continue coverage of computer-aided detection (CAD) for mammography. This reverses a non-coverage policy that was scheduled to take effect on July 22.

The ACR has confirmed with ODS Companies of Portland, Ore. that the insurer will continue coverage of computer-aided detection (CAD) for mammography. This reverses a non-coverage policy that was scheduled to take effect on July 22.

On Friday, July 20, the ACR received confirmation of the change from Csaba Mera, M.D., ODS Medical Director, and received a copy of ODS' letter which informed providers of the policy change.

In addition, the ACR reached out to Dr. Mera, to offer assistance with any future coverage and payment issues related to imaging services. Dr. Mera responded that he would "very much appreciate" the opportunity to review potential coverage changes with members of the College.
