Intelerad announces FDA has approval for its IntelePACS and InteleViewer Workstation. Intelerad Medical Systems, a top-rated PACS vendor based in Montreal, has announced that the FDA has approved its IntelePACS and InteleViewer Workstation products for the interpretation of digital mammographic images.

Digital mammography represents a new "indication for use" for IntelePACS under the guidelines by which the FDA allows products to be marketed. InteleViewer Workstation, the standalone version of the IntelePACS viewer InteleViewer Enterprise, is also covered by the approval.

"Intelerad is committed to regulatory and industry conformance," said Chris Henri, Executive Vice-President at Intelerad. "We recognize that clinicians in mission-critical environments need to know that their PACS and diagnostic workstations are meeting the highest standards," added Henri.

Intelerad said it has also finished installation of its IntelePACS at Bendigo Radiology of Bendigo, in Victoria, Australia.

Bendigo Radiology is one of the largest providers of radiology services in the state of Victoria, servicing twenty-one sites across the region. Bendigo’s sites support a varying range of modalities, including General X-ray and Mammography, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Bone Densitometry.
