| Radiology News - Mammography |
The Department of Environmental Protection has released reports showing that all of the mammography facilities it inspected during the second quarter are operating within FDA guidelines.
The Department of Environmental Protection released reports today showing that all of the 110 mammography facilities it inspected during the second quarter of this year are operating within the guidelines set forth by the US Food and Drug Administration.
DEP inspects each of Pennsylvania's approximately 400 certified mammography facilities annually under a contract with FDA, which sets standards for these facilities under the federal Mammography Quality Standards Act.
The inspections help to ensure that this sophisticated equipment is maintained and operated properly.
The inspection information is available through a partnership between DEP and the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.
The location of regional mammography facilities and information about their latest inspections is available at www.depweb.state.pa.us, keyword: Mammography; then click on "Mammography Facility Inspections in Pennsylvania."
