New Digital Mammography at St. Joseph Hospital
| Radiology News - Mammography |
Mammograms go digital with new technology at St. Joseph Hospital.
More detail is the key to detecting breast cancer earlier in women, according to doctors at the Tawas St. Joseph Hospital.
And with the organization’s new full field digital mammography machine, that is now possible, according to Radiology Director Mike Florip.
The machine takes digital scans of a woman’s breasts, which are then analyzed by trained technicians who look for abnormalities which could be evidence of breast cancer.
The machine, which was scheduled to be online earlier this week, does this job much like the traditional analog machines do, according to Florip, but with several improvements.
