VHA Inc. Selects McKesson Performance Analytics for Enterprise Business Intelligence

Company News - McKesson Corp.
McKesson recently signed an agreement with VHA Inc., the national health care alliance that is committed to helping its members improve their clinical and financial performance. With this new three-year agreement, VHA has selected the McKesson Performance Analytics product as its preferred enterprise business intelligence solution. This contract also offers preferential pricing for VHA members, including discounts for more than 1,400 not-for-profit hospitals and 23,000 non-acute care organizations.

“We chose McKesson as our preferred provider because we believe the company’s innovative approach to business intelligence can enable VHA members to achieve true evidence-based decision making throughout the enterprise,” said Amy Anthony, senior vice president of supply chain services for VHA. “In a recent survey of chief financial officers in VHA hospitals, respondents identified key selection criteria in a technology partner to be quality of work, customer service, contract terms and pricing, and ease of integration. After an extensive selection process, McKesson emerged as the logical partner for our members.”

The McKesson Performance Analytics software provides hospitals and health systems with an innovative financial decision support system that integrates and transforms data from the clinical care process to measure organizational performance. With the enterprise business intelligence solution in place, hospitals and health systems are no longer bound to departmental analytics reports. VHA members will be able to analyze costs and revenues, monitor resource use and patient flow, measure nursing care indicators, and evaluate practitioner performance following the implementation of patient safety and error prevention practices. Using personalized, Web-based dashboards, all stakeholders will have access to information from across the enterprise that empowers them to manage their business with greater efficiency, accuracy and confidence.

“Our goal with the Performance Analytics solution is simple — to transform clinical, financial and operational data into actionable information our customers need to make strategic decisions for their organizations,” says Connie Moser, vice president of performance management solutions, McKesson Provider Technologies. “We look forward to continuing to help VHA members expand their success and broaden their ability to sustain superior performance.”
