Healthcare IT Provider MedPlexus Offers Cash for Clunkers to U.S. Physicians

Company News - MedPlexus, Inc.

MedPlexus announced the creation of their “Cash for Clunkers” Program

MedPlexus,  is a  provider of practice management and electronic health records (EHR) solutions to physician practices, announced the creation of their “Cash for Clunkers”  Program. The “stimulus package,” which is available September 1, 2009, grants cash payments of $3,000 to $5,000 to doctors who replace their previous EHR and/or practice management platforms with MedPlexus integrated platforms.

"Most healthcare IT solutions in place at physician practices in the U.S. are dinosaurs compared to what is offered now,” said CM Mallipeddi, founder and CEO of MedPlexus. “These legacy systems cause physicians to lose money via inefficiencies they wouldn't experience if  they were using a SaaS model, for instance. They make it difficult and expensive to demonstrate ‘meaningful use' of EHR, which you have to do to receive the up-to-$64,000 in incentives available via the stimulus package, also known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).”

Added Mallipeddi, “We are making this ‘stimulus package' available to physicians so that they may take advantage of the cost efficiencies of updated EHR and practice management solutions as well as the incentives that are now available.”
