Kuwait's Dar Al Shifa Hospital undergoes international evaluation
| Medicexchange News - Medicexchange News |
Kuwait's Dar Al Shifa Hospital is poised to emerge as the first hospital in this Gulf country to voluntarily undergo evaluation by an international hospital accreditation body.
Having served the community for 46 years through preventive healthcare and medical services, the Hospital is presently in the final phase of examination conducted by the Canadian Council on Heath Care Services Accreditation (CCHSA).
Dar Al Shifa Chief Operating Officer Ahmad Nasrallah commented: "We are honored to undergo the CCHSA Accreditation process as it will enable our current patients and discerning individuals to make an informed decision about our competencies and ethics as a healthcare institution, thereby giving them the confidence to entrust their health to our team of highly dedicated, qualified and experienced medical practitioners."
Nasrallah noted that the quality of a nation's healthcare practice infrastructure also plays a crucial role in social, political and financial progress. "We at Dar Al Shifa acknowledge our potential to significantly alter the healthcare landscape in Kuwait through a paradigm shift towards integrated preventive healthcare," he explained.
The CCHSA Accreditation program covers a range of healthcare and medical services measures as well as standards adopted for leading practices and patient care and safety. A multi-disciplinary assessment team from CCHSA would soon be visiting Dar Al Shifa to assess the Hospital across several parameters. The result of the evaluation and the subsequent Accreditation status is expected to be finalized by early next year.
