UK Royal College of Radiologists' e-learning solution profiled at RSNA 2007
Q: What products, updates or innovations are you announcing or launching at RSNA?
R-ITI is a web based e-learning solution accessible wherever there is an internet connection. It provides the complete knowledge component of the UK Royal College of Radiologists' (RCR) core curriculum (up to FRCR). All 600 hours of learning content and assessments have been authored by experts and quality assured by the RCR.
The underpinning Learning Management System (LMS) enables the creation of individualised learning paths for users, and tracks and reports on their progress. There is also a physics only version of the product which will give the user access to approximately 60 hours of learning content and assessments focused on the physics knowledge required by radiologists. This version also includes the Learning Management System enabling the creation of learning paths, tracking and reporting.
Q: What are the benefits of using your product?
Benefits include:
- Remote, 'anytime' access available whenever and wherever required.
- Timely, self-paced learning as part of a blended curriculum, R-ITI helps residents prepare for and reinforce instruction, utilise clinical down time to gain knowledge and supports real time monitoring of individual progress.
- High quality, up-to-date content with access to over 600 hours of content developed, quality assured and continuously updated by experts from the UK’s Royal College of Radiologists.
- Consistent approach, content and quality which covers the complete core curriculum end to end so no need to integrate multiple radiology e-learning products.
Q: What are you hoping to achieve from this year's RSNA?
This year, at RSNA, is the first time that licensed access to the R-ITI e-learning solution is available outside of the UK. There has been significant interest in this product from radiologists throughout the world at both individual and organisation level. RSNA will provide us with the opportunity to continue to develop these relationships and build new ones.
Q: What key messages do you have for RSNA attendees?
R-ITI is unique:
- The only e-learning product that covers the complete core curriculum end to end.
- The only e-learning product that is quality assured and endorsed by the UK's Royal College of Radiologists and will be continuously updated with a complete revision every four years.
- There are over 600 hours of expertly authored radiology e-learning content.
- Remote, 'anytime' access - available whenever and wherever required.
- Integrated and customisable learning paths, tracking and reporting.
Q: How do you see the year ahead in clinical and business terms?
There is no doubt that e-learning will play a significant role in the training and development of all clinical staff, in terms of quality and the economics of training and development. With R-ITI's unique place in the market we look forward to working with radiologists throughout the world delivering high quality radiology e-learning solutions. With an eye to the future, we are establishing an organisation that will continue to develop its products ensuring that R-ITI remains ahead of similar products.
