Oncology Powerhouse Chooses Award-Winning Software Solutions Company to Integrate All Offices and Records

Medinformatix, a leading provider of software solutions for the healthcare industry, announced that it had successfully launched its Practice Management System for the oncology sector of Redwood Regional Medical Group (RRMG). RRMG, one of the top five oncology medical practices in the country, selected Medinformatix to integrate the group’s 14 offices, interface all medical records and provide hospital downloads with one user-friendly software product.

“Redwood provided us with the type of challenge we enjoy at Medinformatix. With 14 offices throughout Northern California, modalities in seven fields and thousands of patients a month, the practice requested a way to manage it all so that appointments, billings and records would be easily accessible and only entered once,” said Tom McGonigle, CEO, Medinformatix. “It was very rewarding to be able to seamlessly transition Medinformatix to one single paperless interface where both the doctors and the patients benefit from its efficiency.”

Medinformatix’s special task force conducted numerous workflow analyses over a six-month period to be able to go live at RRMG on February 1, 2008. RRMG’s patient demographics, insurance information and billing as well as its PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) were incorporated in order that patients need only be entered once in the system allowing all divisions, doctors and technicians easy electronic access to records.

In addition to integrating these new technologies into our practice, stricter and more complex government guidelines, a quest for greater efficiencies in staff workflow and an ever increasing appetite for data have made us painfully aware of the limitations of our current PMS and associated information systems. We expect even greater workflow efficiencies when we implement Medinformatix for our imaging sites in July.”
