Merge Healthcare Expands eFilm Workstation Product Line

Company News - Merge Healthcare
Merge Healthcare announced the addition of the eFilm Archive to its portfolio of eCommerce diagnostic imaging solutions.

This robust, easy-to-deploy archive gives imaging centers, specialty clinics and rural hospitals an economical way to increase their storage capacity for medical images and enable efficient image routing.

“We were thrilled to see the addition of eFilm Archive to the eFilm line,” says Steve Michaud, Management Information Systems Analyst for Arizona Kidney Disease and Hypertension Center, LLC. “We’d been shopping for an economical image management solution, and eFilm Archive made perfect sense. As a seasoned eFilm user, the solution was intuitive and easy to deploy. Equally as important, it was also within our budget.”

eFilm Archive is packaged as a complete solution, including all software, server hardware, onsite installation and training, and one full year of support. Because it uses the same hardware and software configurations as Merge’s hosted RIS/PACS solutions, it also provides customers with an affordable mechanism for adding applications like Radiology Information Systems (RIS), disaster recovery and billing. These add-ons create essential information for electronic health records (EHRs) and help meet the future growth demands for an imaging business.

“As Mr. Michaud mentioned, our eFilm Workstation customers who currently lack a centralized archive welcome this addition to the eFilm product line,” states Nancy Koenig, President of Merge’s Fusion business unit. “We built the solution based on their need for economical, complete and easy-to-use archive functionality, and customers are already expressing confidence that this solution will provide them with an immediate return by helping them better manage their digital images.”

The new eFilm Archive joins Merge Healthcare’s existing eCommerce solutions: eFilm Workstation, a widely used diagnostic viewer; and eFilm RIS/PACS, a cost-effective solution that brings scheduling, document management and image storage to low-volume sites using eFilm Workstation viewers. The eFilm user community is supported by programs such as the eFilm AppExchange, which allows users to trade customized eFilm applications, and Authentic eFilm for license validity concerns.
