Meta Fusion shows cross-enterprise, cross-cultural radiology workflow emphasizes seamless fusion of RIS and PACS

Company News - Meta Fusion
Meta Fusion shows cross-enterprise, cross-cultural radiology workflow emphasizes seamless fusion of RIS and PACS. Meta Fusion, the Silicon Valley healthcare IT company, announces at RSNA 2007 enhancements to its high-performance, affordable Helium radiology practice management solution that support multi-country, localized workflow, while maintaining its hallmark seamless RIS/PACS integration.

With growing sales around the globe, including the US, Europe and Australia, Meta Fusion is introducing an innovative program of customizations to support local systems of radiology scheduling, reimbursement, administrative record keeping and more to automate workflow in a full range of countries.  "Under Slovakia's national healthcare system, for example, radiologists have a cap on the number of exams reimbursed each month in a particular modality," according to  Cyrus Hazari, President of Meta Fusion.  "Helium installations in that country now support ongoing monthly subtotaling of all modalities and automated notification when totals are approaching.   Australia and other countries have reimbursement procedures significantly different than in the U.S. and Helium now accommodates these."  As part of this program, Helium also supports a full range of native languages and character sets.

Helium radiology practice management solution

This growing list of localized workflow features will be of particular benefit to multi-site radiology clinics in Europe, where offices may span a number of countries and demand integrated systems that are specialized for each country. "The world is becoming smaller every day, and Helium now supports not only cross-enterprise but also cross-cultural workflow," comments Cyrus Hazari, President of Meta Fusion. "Today, having the IT infrastructure in place to enable worldwide information flow is not enough.  Radiologists need the tools to manage that workflow appropriately, and Meta Fusion now delivers this in Helium." Helium also operates in both Windows and MAC OSX with Osirix for Macintosh computers to support a full range of users.

Seamless RIS/PACS Fusion

At RSNA 2007, Meta Fusion also will showcase its innovative RIS-driven imaging architecture that enables Helium's tight, turnkey operation.  Unlike most RIS/PACS solutions, Helium utilizes a single RIS interface for controlling both functions.  The user need never switch between applications, although the programs are separate. The result is a fast, user-friendly workflow that minimizes the clicks and manual steps required to accomplish a task and eliminates duplicate input of information.

A complete radiology practice management solution

Helium is an advanced turnkey RIS/PACS application fine-tuned for the special needs of imaging centers and small hospitals, helping them transition easily and affordably into the digital age. The advanced application ships pre-configured to a purchaser's specifications for streamlined plug-and-play installation, eliminating costly IT support.  It is designed for ultra-reliability and availability with a similar IT backbone to Meta Fusion's enterprise healthcare IT appliances and was created by a development team recognized for its innovative wide ranging business and consumer IT applications.

Elegant and robust, Helium provides comprehensive RIS workflow; from patient scheduling and exam reporting though report tracking and CPT and ICD coding.  Designed with the flexibility to support individualized practice and department procedures, Helium provides multi-site booking, cross-location workflow and load-balancing and a full range of customizations.

Complementing this, advanced PACS functionality delivers filmless image interpretation, communications and archiving.  A user-friendly interface streamlines learning curves and supports individual user preferences. Remote 24/7 monitoring and upgrades that download automatically over the Internet are included in the comprehensive package.

With Helium, the full advantages of digital radiology workflow are plug-and-play.   A site need only attach the network and power cords and add a PC-based viewing station with minimal configuration, before logging in.  The fully scalable system will grow with an installation into the future.
