NaviNet Introduces All-in-One Solution to Help Physician Practice Manage Patient Information
NaviNet announced that it will introduce the industry’s first all-in-one solution to help physician practices manage key patient information and office processes from a single point
NaviNet, America’s largest real-time healthcare communications network, announced that it will introduce the industry’s first all-in-one solution to help physician practices manage key patient information and office processes from a single, secure Web site. NaviNet will expand its industry-leading multi-payer Web portal offerings by deeply integrating with critical administrative, clinical and financial applications. The enhanced unified patient information management system will deliver one-stop convenience and improved efficiencies to the physician practice.
“A unified platform for accomplishing these various tasks can enable physicians to concentrate on delivering higher quality care while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the business side of their practice.
NaviNet facilitates secure, real-time administrative, financial and clinical transactions between leading national, commercial, Blue and Medicaid health plans, and healthcare professionals in all 50 states–resulting in improved quality of care and significant cost savings to the industry. The integration of additional mission-critical, patient-centric information and capabilities with NaviNet’s Web portal will create a central, secure access point to enable the hundreds of thousands of physicians, clinicians and other healthcare professionals in the NaviNet Network to perform day-to-day office functions more efficiently and cost-effectively. The Company will launch the unified healthcare solution in 2010 with the introduction of integrated practice management ( PM ) and electronic medical record ( EMR ) capabilities.
“With more than 12 years in the healthcare communications business, and daily contact with the hundreds of thousands of physicians and users in the NaviNet Network, NaviNet intimately understands the way physician offices work and the challenges that providers face. And one of the biggest – and we believe underplayed – issues for physician offices is the lack of integration between core systems and patient data, and the resulting inefficiencies and high costs,” said NaviNet CEO Brad Waugh. “NaviNet sees a need for a unified patient information management solution that can increase efficiencies, reduce costs and improve quality – and truly help providers with the real-world, immediate challenges they encounter every day, such as regulatory compliance, P4P and revenue cycle management.”
“Clinicians in practices of various size and specialty are struggling with delivering quality care to their patients while simultaneously managing a continuous stream of complex inter-related processes, such as patient scheduling, billing and accounts receivable, health plan communications, and maintaining regulatory compliance,” said Thomas J. Handler, M.D., research director, Gartner. “A unified platform for accomplishing these various tasks can enable physicians to concentrate on delivering higher quality care while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the business side of their practice.”
In addition to introducing NaviNet-branded integrated applications, NaviNet will continue to partner with leading healthcare IT innovators to further enhance its unified patient information management system. By integrating their solutions with NaviNet, healthcare IT vendors will:
Increase speed to market: By tapping into the vast, national NaviNet Network, partners can reach 70 percent of U.S. physicians, as well as hundreds of thousands of clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
Maximize utilization: The NaviNet portal fits into the physician practice daily workflow and is already used to complete millions of transactions each year.
Ensure effectiveness: The NaviNet privacy and security model and registration process ensures the right information is being exchanged between appropriate authorized parties at the right office location.
Eliminate the need to build administrative transactions into existing technology: For nearly a decade, NaviNet has facilitated key administrative interactions between providers and payers. NaviNet enables partners to immediately meet Federal requirements for offering administrative transactions.
NaviNet has already taken steps to enhance the value of its Web portal through partner offerings. In February 2010, NaviNet added solutions from RelayHealth, including patient messaging and online patient bill pay, enabling convenient one-stop communications across the entire healthcare continuum, from patient to provider to insurer. Earlier this month, the Company announced a joint integration and marketing agreement with MEDecision, Inc., to allow health plans to deliver MEDecision Clinical Summaries to providers at time of care.
