CMS Names NextGen Healthcare a Qualified PQRI Patient Registry for 2009

Company News - NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc.
NextGen Healthcare Information Systems announced it has been named a qualified PQRI patient registry for 2009 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and a leading provider of ambulatory healthcare and connectivity solutions, announced it has been named a qualified PQRI patient registry for 2009 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). As a qualified PQRI registry, NextGen Healthcare Information Systems will help eligible physicians to submit data based on PQRI quality measures directly to CMS. CMS will begin collecting 2009 quality measure results in January 2010.

“We’ve always been aggressive in helping our clients to collect, analyze and report data pertaining to the quality of care, and we will continue to take the lead in helping our clients to participate in programs that provide financial incentives and increased reimbursement,” said Patrick Cline, president of NextGen Healthcare Information Systems.

PQRI is a voluntary quality reporting program established by CMS in which physicians collect and report data related to performance measures. In 2009, physicians who satisfactorily submit applicable quality measures data are eligible for an additional two percent (2%) Medicare incentive payment.
