Nextrials’ EDC Platform Showcases Easy Interoperability

Company News - Nextrials, Inc.

Nextrials Prism , an award-winning clinical trial electronic data capture technology, Continues to Set Industry Benchmarks for Enabling Information Sharing between Clinical Trial and Hospital Sites.

Nextrials , Inc., a leader in clinical research software and services, will participate in an integration demonstration between its Prism and electronic health records (EHR) platforms used within healthcare systems at the 11th Annual IHE North America Connectathon, being held January 11-15 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The Connectathon is the healthcare IT industry’s largest interoperability testing event dedicated to establishing standards that address specific clinical needs in support of optimal patient care.

One of the earliest and leading proponents for EDC and EHR integration, Nextrials recently completed the industry’s first pilot study where real-time, live patient data from multiple sites was collected from electronic health records and shared by what had previously been two separate data management platforms.

“Nextrials’ continued support of the Connectathon underscores our commitment to the development of a national IT standard for healthcare information,” noted Alan Arroyo, vice president of global sales and marketing for Nextrials. “Through the Connectathon, we can demonstrate the value of EDC-EHR integration and the cost benefit implications it has for both pharmaceutical R&D initiatives and patient healthcare-related programs.”

Nextrials’ award-winning Prism melds sophisticated clinical trial management functionality with EDC in a single, integrated package. By receiving a constant flow of data, Prism enables sponsors and sites to fully utilize real-time integration of disparate information and data sources, such as a hospital’s EHR or patient records, to better provide a continuum of care for patients enrolled in clinical trials.
