Ward Memorial Hospital, a level IV trauma center in Monahans, Texas, is implementing Novarad's NovaPACS imaging technology for its emergency and health care services.

With NovaPACS, radiologists will now have remote access to images, making result turnaround time as fast as possible. In addition to the PACS, the hospital recently added a portable radiology machine enabling the RTs to go to the patient if they are too critical to travel to the radiology department.

Novarad has PACS and RIS technology installations in 18 hospitals, imaging centers and clinics throughout Texas and more than 350 installations worldwide.

"Rural facilities continue to select our technologies as we are able to provide a fully scalable completely web-based PACS and 24 x 7 service at an affordable cost," said Paul Shumway, Novarad vice president. "It is rewarding to support the hospital in fulfilling its mission to serve its community by providing quality care in a fiscally responsible manner."

NovaPACS is Novarad's complete, enterprise-level PACS offering fast image retrieval, full-feature viewer with intuitive interface, and seven-year on-site archive with off site emergency back up. Full screen viewing, easy to use menus and mouse-based functions are available to help enhance efficiency and referring physicians have complete access to images and reports from any computer. To complement NovaPACS, Novarad offers NovaRIS. Developed on the same platform as NovaPACS, together, the systems enable fast retrieval of images and information from any web-enabled computer.
