SNM 2008 - SNM's 55th Annual Meeting, "Molecular Imaging: Build on the Past, Define the Future," will be held June 14-18, 2008, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA.

'Molecular Imaging: Build on the Past, Define the Future' meeting

SNM's 55th Annual Meeting, "Molecular Imaging: Build on the Past, Define the Future," will be held June 14-18, 2008, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, La., with more than 4,000 of the world's leading experts in molecular imaging and therapy and nuclear medicine attending.

New research expected to be unveiled in the molecular imaging, neurology, cardiology and oncology fields has the potential to directly affect the future of patient care. Notable topics to be discussed include the use of PET, SPECT and other forms of imaging to:

- Detect and diagnose Alzheimer's disease and other dementias;
- Predict sudden cardiac death;
- View spinal cord injuries;
- Advance the diagnosis of ovarian and prostate cancer; and,
- Study post-menopausal women.

A press conference will be held Monday, June 16, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., to discuss specific research topics. During the press conference, Dr. Henry Wagner, Johns Hopkins University, will reveal the highly anticipated "SNM Image of the Year." Other portions of the annual meeting open to media include plenary sessions, categorical seminars, the exhibit hall and presentations of scientific papers and posters.
