Object Forge, Inc and NEMA signed contract for developing standards for laguage scanning CT image exchange
The Department of Homeland Security requested NEMA to assist the luggage scanning CT manufacturers to develop a standard image communications protocols. The Transportation Security Agency, the customer of the scanners, has expressed great interest in the standardization of image exchanges between these devices. The agencies have been in communication with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and came to the common understanding that the best platform to develop this new standard would be provided by NEMA. The new standard is intended to be largely DICOM based. Since NEMA lacks the internal expertise to provide the technical coordination of the effort, NEMA has decided to engage a DICOM consultant. Object Forge, Inc's President Mr. Dezso Csipo was contracted to provide this function.
