Medical Imaging

This segment will discuss some of the way detrimental cancers/tumors can be diagnosed using scintillating cameras for effective planning, to judge on treatment.

Welcome aboard! The world has urbanized so far by all means, whether science or technology, and along with all various industries grew, and Healthcare sector is one that has seen tremendous development imbibing new scientific technologies for effective diagnosis and treatment of low to severe diseases.

Here in this segment we are trying to frame the applications of medical imaging in treating Cancer, and we may not be all new to this harmful disease, Cancer (Therapeutically termed as malignant neoplasm), as for the newbie, during any cancerous stage the cells inside the body start showing unmanageable growth, and march by force into other tissues, and spread uncontrollably over other spots within body through intestinal fluids (lymph) or blood, and the division of medicine that deals with the research, analysis, prevention and cure of Cancer is Oncology.

For effective diagnosis of Cancer at a variety of stages, the applicability of medical imaging comes up in the scenario, as with increased scientific development, and technology, with an upsurge of computer system and software, Healthcare sectors find it easy to plan and perform radiotherapy on patients that come up with severe medical cases, where diagnosis with just any conventional system is not possible.

You may never be astonished to know that Cancerous death rate is comparatively higher than other harmful diseases that we are acquainted of, and there are quite a few different types of Cancers that are noticeable in just every/any part of the body. But the technology is playing well, as medical imaging plays pivotal role in analysis, supervision, planning and effective treatment of cancerous tumors.

Since past few years the medical imaging technology has grown multi-fold, and is being widely used all over by medical professionals in their healthcare facilities, and what more, diagnosing any detrimental cancer case is no longer a tough job with the inception of medical imaging, as through effective medical imaging the premature detection and treatment/aversion of any dreaded tumor has been made feasible.

To stretch along, nowadays everything in the medical scenario is reliant on medical imaging, whether it is diagnosis of cancer, planning radiotherapy/surgery, or evaluation and follow up on chemotherapy, to name a few, and if you gaze around, you will find lots of advanced medical imaging technologies/modalities (e.g. Computed Tomography, Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography, Positron Emission Tomography, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging etc.) that the Healthcare facilities rely on for streamlining workplaces.

These modalities/medical imaging equipments other than custom applications play a crucial role in developing remedy and gene rehabilitation, and ensure success of the medicine during examination.

Settling on prognostic indicator genes for drug receptivity is usually being discovered through quantitative imaging, for effectively sketching out drug deliverance and/or averting excessive dosage of medicine, to provide intended treatment.

Premature rejoinders of tumor/cancer through Radiotherapy/Chemotherapy and all that play important role, and the substantiated imaging data does make a big difference continuing up with the treatment.

Previous decades witnessed wonderful performances from Computed Tomography (CT) that was being used for diagnosis, and for following-up on harmful cancers, but nowadays fast technological developments have taken place with the upsurge of multi-detector Computed Tomography, and more to that even Magnetic Resonance Imaging is hugely popular with the market. On the concluding note, though the section will be enriched further, we want to wrap up saying that early diagnosis is always preferable to keep a tab on cancer, and to treat it, timely, and nuclear medicine/medical imaging can help you out on it. Thank you!
