Concord Hospital selected the Orion Health Rhapsody Integration Engine to supplement and eventually replace their current solution, Sun Microsystems eGate.

Concord Hospital, a regional medical center, and one of the busiest acute care hospitals in the State of New Hampshire, has selected the Orion Health Rhapsody Integration Engine to supplement and eventually replace their current solution, Sun Microsystems eGate.  Rhapsody will serve as the hospital’s new and advanced platform to migrate, manage, and streamline message exchange for their new Health Information System (HIS).

Chris Baker, Director of Application Development at Concord Hospital, states, “We were looking for an innovative technology solution that would not only work with our short-term goal of implementing a new Electronic Medical Record (EMR), but also meet our long-term goal of serving as an application development tool to integrate various databases into our overall HIS.”

Rhapsody offers a flexible system that is expected to manage up to 200,000 messages per day for Concord Hospital and presents an easy migration path from existing integration engines.

“Because we will be moving from eGate, the migration path was especially important and the migration toolkit that converts eGate code into Rhapsody was another important factor in our decision,” continued Baker.
