Advancements in healthcare informatics technologies and new offerings in PACS

Communities - PACS
SIIM 2008 - Philips Healthcare and AMIRSYS have announced that the two companies are working to integrate the STATdx Diagnostic Support System with Philips iSite PACS.

Advancements in healthcare informatics technologies and new offerings in PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) showcase Philips' ability to seamlessly connect patient information across the continuum of care, across the enterprise and across disciplines at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting in Seattle.

STATdx Diagnostic Decision Support System integrated with iSite PACS increases speed, accuracy and diagnostic confidence in complex cases.

Philips Healthcare and AMIRSYS, a leading provider of imaging informatics, announced that that the two companies are working to integrate the STATdx Diagnostic Support System with Philips iSite PACS. STATdx is a reference technology that streamlines workflow by reducing the time required to research and complete a difficult imaging analysis. The system's digital format sets it apart from a textbook and provides physicians and surgeons enterprise-wide access to on-demand reference tools at the point of care.

Designed to support the busy practicing radiologist by increasing speed and accuracy, the integration of STATdx with iSite PACS also assists orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, women's health centers and emergency departments in their efforts to improve patient care and overall office workflow. The addition of STATdx technologies further bolsters the iSite PACS enterprise solution for clinical images and clinical applications.

Unique PACS replacement solution for legacy systems offers a solution for hospitals with aging systems.

Hospitals and radiology departments with older PACS systems are challenged to perform and compete in the marketplace due to ever-increasing study volumes, image sizes and advanced visualization requirements. For institutions with existing PACS contracts, Philips replacement solution offers disaster recovery, advanced visualization and enterprise-wide image distribution to augment current PACS functionality in addition to gradual data transfer that prepares the site for future migration.

The replacement program also offers many of the same benefits that current iSite PACS customers experience, while preparing facilities for a smooth transition well in advance. iSite Enterprise enables efficient image distribution with advanced visualization capabilities to referring physicians throughout the enterprise, resulting in a simplified process that may increase physician satisfaction and clinical insight to help improve overall patient care. Advanced data transfer reduces the typically lengthy migration timeframe post-contract expiration.

Philips Healthcare will also showcase the following solutions from its portfolio at SIIM 2008:

Xcelera Multimodality Information Management: A multimodality image management, analysis and reporting solution that organizes and provides access to images and data from key cardiology subspecialties

Xper Information Management: A cardiovascular information management solution that transforms catheterization (cath) lab data into insightful information

iSite PACS: A system that enables the efficient sharing of patient information throughout the clinical enterprise to empower business growth

XIRIS Radiology Information System (RIS): A flexible tool that streamlines communication across radiology departments and beyond

3D clinical applications: 3Dvisualization tools such as iSite Volume Vision, which will be integrated into the latest version of iSite PACS and will be available as an add-on option. iSite Pulmonary Embolism Assessment and iSite CT Colonography (works-in-progress) will also be displayed.

PCR Eleva: Philips Computed Radiography (PCR) Eleva workspot aims to increase overall working efficiencies in the radiography department by combining reliable reader technology and excellent image quality with an intuitive user interface that supports automated one-touch workflow.
