DeJarnette announces largest ever PACS migration contract

Radiology News - PACS
DeJarnette Research Systems, Inc. announced the receipt of the company's largest ever purchase order for PACS legacy migration services. The company has been contracted by the University of Michigan Health System to migrate 3.2 million studies to their newly installed McKesson PACS. DeJarnette won the contract through a competitive bid process. The contract was awarded based on company technology, company migration experience, company reputation and price.

"It was clear from the beginning of the RFP process that the customer had a very aggressive requirement for the total time to migrate. A pure DICOM migration would not be sufficient to meet the requirement. DeJarnette Media Assist™ technology was seen as the means to perform a rapid migration while cleansing the PACS data. The Media Assist™ migration process makes use of the databases of the legacy PACS and HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) systems to locate and quickly file copy images to the migration gateway, where the images are cleansed before being inserted into the new PACS, stated Brian Baker, DeJarnette's Migration Services Manager.

Philip Rispoli, the company's Vice President of Business Development noted, "this is our largest migration ever. It is two times larger than any previous migration performed by DeJarnette. It is very gratifying that a luminary medical facility, that understands the details and technology of PACS migration, such as the University of Michigan has chosen to work with us."
