Bassett Selects Full Suite of PatientKeeper Applications
| Company News - PatientKeeper, Inc. |
PatientKeeper, Inc., announced that Bassett Healthcare Network has chosen PatientKeeper’s enterprise suite of applications to tie together its existing health information system s and provide their physicians with a single software environment to automate their daily workflow.
After an extensive search, Bassett Healthcare selected PatientKeeper because it will drive millions of dollars of increased revenue and allow Bassett to achieve Meaningful Use quickly.
Bassett Healthcare Network is a leader in delivering rural health care to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,000 square miles in upstate New York. Bassett Medical Center, the foundation for this network, is a 180-bed, acute care inpatient teaching facility in Cooperstown, N.Y. Around the region, Bassett’s health professionals provide primary, preventive and outpatient care at 26 health centers and 13 school-based health centers. The Physician Group also provides outpatient primary and specialty care at the Bassett Clinic, located on the Medical Center campus. Acute inpatient care is provided at these network sites: O’Connor Hospital in Delhi, Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Little Falls Hospital, Tri-Town Regional Hospital in Sidney and A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. Bassett Healthcare Network includes physicians, providers and six hospitals using MEDITECH and McKesson HIS across their facilities. Bassett desired a single work environment for physicians practicing at affiliated facilities, including some that use McKesson as their core HIS system.
With over 250 employed physicians and other doctorates and 150 allied health professionals, and an extensive network to support, Bassett recognized the exceptional value that providing a unified view of patient information would create.
"Our physicians are really excited that PatientKeeper provides them with the ability to still leverage their core back-end systems – Witt Cardiology, GE MUSE, McKesson HPF and McKesson PACS, among others – within one consistent and intuitive software environment across our entire medical system as we roll out our IT strategy over the next three years," said Joe Diver, CIO at Bassett Healthcare Network. "In addition, deploying the PatientKeeper Charge Capture product will help fund the entire deployment of the system. What is also amazing is that PatientKeeper is able to create a virtual electronic health record across the community without requiring us to replace our existing systems. PatientKeeper was the only technology provider we evaluated that offered such a robust and complete suite of solutions. No other vendor came close."
“We are delighted that Basset Healthcare Network has selected PatientKeeper to provide its physician community with software that will lead to meaningful adoption and ultimately Meaningful Use,” said Paul Brient, CEO of PatientKeeper. “Our ability to deliver cost-effective and comprehensive solutions ranging from Charge Capture to CPOE helps both physicians and hospitals across the community stay in alignment and derive significant value at the same time. We look forward to helping Bassett Healthcare Network to exceed its goals and ultimately improve the way the hospital and its physicians practice medicine.”
