PatientKeeper Demonstrates Standards-Based Interoperability

Company News - PatientKeeper, Inc.

PatientKeeper, Inc. Demonstrates Standards-Based Interoperability at Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) North American Connectathon in Chicago.

PatientKeeper, Inc., the leading provider of Physician Information Technology, successfully demonstrated standards-based interoperability at the week-long Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) North America Connectathon in Chicago, IL in early January. The Connectathon is the healthcare IT industry’s largest interoperability testing event, bringing together over 104 vendors to conduct scenario-based tests that attempt to mimic information exchange among disparate systems.

The IHE event monitored, reviewed and verified PatientKeeper’s ability to support IHE and HITSP standards for Audit Trail and Node Authentication (ATNA), Consistent Time (CT), Patient Demographic Query (PDQ), Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS.b), and Content Consumer (XDS). This combination of interoperability capabilities combined with PatientKeeper’s Community ConnectorTM forms the core of PatientKeeper’s exchange platform that allows hospitals to exchange health information with physician practices, laboratories and other community providers. Specifically, these and other IHE and HITSP standards that PatientKeeper supports ensure a healthcare system has the capability to identify a patient uniquely and exchange the identified patient’s clinical information, based on their consent, across healthcare information systems.

PatientKeeper will be participating in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society ( HIMSS ) Interoperability Showcase as part of the HIMSS 2010 conference scheduled March 1-3 in Atlanta. We will also be demonstrating practical applications of information exchange within a comprehensive platform of workflow applications at booth #4808.
