Royal Philips Electronics will present high field open MR system: the Philips Panorama 1.0T at Arab Health Congress 2010, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

At Arab Health Congress 2010 Royal Philips Electronics will demonstrate a solution to create a patient-friendly environment by presenting its state-of-the art high field open MR system: the Philips Panorama 1.0T. Not only does this MR system offer physicians high-field image quality for advanced applications, it also offers a completely open design that makes getting an MR scan a more positive experience.

Many patients suffer from feelings of claustrophobia in a closed MR system. The Panorama 1.0T features the widest open patient space of any high-field MR system. Physicians will also appreciate the high-resolution images possible from the high-field-strength magnet within the Panorama 1.0T that enables them to make better diagnoses.

Philips' high-field open MR will be showcased in a Philips Ambient Experience solution which integrates architecture and design such as lighting, sound and projection. This will allow patients to personalize their environment and wrap themselves in a relaxing positive ambience. Feedback from clinicians who have used Ambient Experience solutions indicates that providing a relaxing environment makes a real difference for the patients. It speeds up the procedure, as patients are more comfortable and relaxed, and in some cases it reduces the need for sedation - in particular among children.

The combination of the Panorama 1.0T open MR along with the Ambient Experience will together create a complete solution for a patient-friendly environment, making hospital visits a more pleasant experience. To date, the combined solution has been installed in several hospitals in the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The Ambient Experience can also incorporate other solutions like CT Scanners and Cardiac Cath Labs.
