QStar Healthcare, , the medical division of QStar Technologies , Inc., announced that it is participating with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) in a 7 city hospital road show across Italy during November.

Conducted in conjunction with the e-Health Forum publication, this road show will focus on helping healthcare facilities develop long term storage strategies for the management and retention of hospital information and patient records.

During these seminars, radiologists and IT administrators will be invited to sit down with HDS and QStar to discuss their specific storage requirements.  Topics on the agenda include the following:

• Storage Resource Optimization

• Performance Balancing

• Cost Reduction

• Compliance and Risk Management

• High Availability Strategies

• Open System Design

Seminar attendees will also have the opportunity to receive an overview of the HDS HCAP (Hitachi Content Archive Platform), the new HCP (Hitachi Content Platform) and QStar SntrySTR / SntyPACS archive solutions.  The combined QStar and HDS storage platform provides a very cost effective and resilient archive by employing multiple tiers of storage technologies over the lifecycle of the data.

“The format and focus of the HDS medical road show is very unique.  Rather than lecturing to hospital professionals in a hotel conference room, HDS and QStar will be visiting selected facilities with in their own van and inviting staff for one-on-one discussions targeted at their specific needs,” explained Carlo Restelli, regional sales director of QStar. “We think this is a really great approach and are very pleased to be participating with HDS in such an innovative event.  We’re bringing the storage experts directly to the hospitals for a free consultation.”

Dates and locations for the HDS Road Show in November 2009 include: 12th & 13th in Milan, 16th in Padova, 17th in Bologna, 18th in Florence, 19th & 20th in Rome, 23rd in Napoli, and 25th in Bari.
