RIS/PACS solutions provider, RADinfo Systems, announce release of their secured version of PowerPACS DICOMmail software. The software allows physicians to send DICOM image studies and reports through common email systems.

"Working with our clients around the world, it is clear that a simple and secure means of transmitting patient image studies and reports via internet is essential for patient care. The use of DICOMmail has the potential to change the way patient study information is shared and distributed; it demonstrates how medical facilities can boost efficiency in these matters," said Dr. Chen- Tai Ma, CEO & President of RADinfo SYSTEMS. "We are confident that it is a complete solution for our clients to retrieve and send any DICOM-format medical image through any common email system."

DICOMmail comes with RADinfo Systems' Basic RSVS Viewer and presents the ideal solution for physicians seeking outside consultation. The software provides various compression algorithms and full encryption to protect patient information by means of common email systems. A user simply needs to drag-and- drop files within the DICOMmail program, converting JPEG and BMP images into DICOM format if needed. The user can view the images in the Basic RSVS Viewer after a quick and easy internet download of the DICOMmail application.
