| Medical Conferences News - RSNA 2007 |
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists announced it has negotiated an agreement with the Radiological Society of North America to offer a one-and-a-half day educational track for radiologic technologists during the 2009 RSNA meeting. The meeting will take place Nov. 29-Dec. 4, 2009, at McCormick Place in Chicago, with the educational track scheduled for half a day on Dec. 2 and all day on Dec. 3.
The ASRT@RNSA educational track will be approved for Category A continuing education credit for registered radiologic technologists. In addition, professionals working in other areas of radiology will have access to the educational courses.
"RSNA is very pleased to be working with ASRT on this important educational program for technologists," said RSNA's Assistant Executive Director of Science and Education, Linda Bresolin, Ph.D., M.B.A., CAE.
The annual RSNA meeting is the largest gathering of medical professionals in the world, drawing more than 62,000 attendees in 2007. The technical exhibit floor covers 500,000 square feet and features more than 750 equipment and pharmaceutical manufacturers displaying their latest products.
"ASRT@RSNA will be a wonderful opportunity for radiologic technologists to network with colleagues, examine the latest technology and earn CE credits,” said ASRT Chief Executive Officer Lynn May. "ASRT is excited to be an official part of the RSNA meeting, and we look forward to launching ASRT@RSNA in 2009.”
The educational track for RTs will be cobranded, with both ASRT and RSNA sharing marketing and promotional responsibilities. ASRT will develop the educational track itself. As ASRT continues to work with RSNA to plan the ASRT@RSNA program, details will be posted at ASRT's Web site, www.asrt.org.
